The Amorphous alloy core significantly reduces hysteresis loss and eddy current loss.  Amorphous means that there is no regularity in the atomic arrangement, so if the Amorphous alloy sheet is used for the core of a transformer, the hysteresis loss is small. The silicon steel sheet has a thickness of 0.23 ~ 0.27mm, but the thickness of the Amorphous alloy sheet is only 0.025mm and the electrical resistance is bigger, thus the eddy current is smaller.
